The Challenge

Client Context:
The client required a reliable, high-capacity crushing plant capable of processing approximately 200 tonnes of ore per hour as part of a heap leaching operation in Masvingo.

Pain Points:

  • Need for consistent and efficient ore crushing at high throughput.
  • Requirement for a plant designed to support the heap leaching process.
  • Integration of crushing equipment, material handling and supporting infrastructure.
  • Need for a robust plant capable of operating under demanding mining conditions.
  • Coordination of engineering, fabrication, civil works and mechanical installation on site.

Business Impact:
An efficient crushing circuit is critical to maintaining a steady supply of appropriately sized ore to the heap leaching operation. Delays, inconsistent throughput or equipment downtime can affect downstream processing and overall production efficiency.

Project Goals:

  • Develop and construct a 200 TPH crushing plant.
  • Provide efficient and consistent ore size reduction.
  • Establish reliable material handling from feed through to the product discharge.
  • Integrate the plant’s mechanical, structural and supporting systems.
  • Deliver a durable and maintainable solution suited to the client’s operational requirements.

Key Role

Installation and commissioning of the crushing plant and associated infrastructure

Solution

Pantax Engineering is delivering the project through an integrated engineering and construction approach, covering the major stages from plant development through to installation.

Key activities include:

  • Engineering and planning of the 200 TPH crushing plant.
  • Plant layout and equipment positioning.
  • Civil and structural works required for the plant infrastructure.
  • Fabrication of structural components and supporting steelwork.
  • Supply and installation of crushing and material-handling equipment.
  • Installation of conveyors and associated plant components.
  • Mechanical assembly and integration of the crushing circuit.
  • Electrical and control-system connections.
  • Alignment, inspection and testing of installed equipment.
  • Preparation for commissioning and operational handover.

The project is being executed with a focus on safe construction, efficient material flow, equipment reliability and maintainability.

Results & Business Impact

As the project is currently under construction, final production results and operational performance figures are not yet available.

Upon completion, the project is expected to provide the client with:

200 TPH crushing capacity to support the heap leaching operation.
A purpose-built crushing solution aligned with the client’s processing requirements.
Improved consistency in ore preparation and material flow.
Integrated mechanical, structural and electrical infrastructure.
A robust plant designed for mining and industrial operating conditions.
A foundation for improved operational efficiency and reliable downstream ore processing.
